If the gun was pointed at your head…
Elliot has a really, really good post on his site of which I encourage everyone to read twice, or maybe three times!
However, a mini-debate has developed near the bottom in the comment section between David and Jeremy on the subject of .tv names.
Let’s explore further.
IF… you had a million dollars to invest and you were forced to spend all of it with a gun to your head to make a purchase between two domain names, of which, you and I both know that’ll never happen in real life, but humor me here for a second, which of these domain names would you buy?
IncomeTV.com
OR
Income.tv
If you like, use any example, I don’t care.
Remember, use your knowledge, gut feelings and try to truly pretend you’ve got a million bucks on the line that could affect your life and your children’s future…
WHICH AND WHY? (Don’t say both!)

I would have to agree with David with the reasons he laid out in Elliot’s Blog. My gut feeling tells me that as nice as a little package .TV is, it’s still a gamble. So If I were a betting man, my money would go into the more safe .com. Not to mention, .TV is still no where near as branded as .com.
Don’t get me wrong, I like .TV as well but, well, if the gun was pointed at my head…
I also want to state that when it comes to simply flipping/trading names, dotTV can be a bonafide moneymaker if you know the market.
My dotTV comments on Elliots Blog were directed at Domainer/Developers. Selling undeveloped cyber real estate is one thing. Developing cyber real estate is another with much higher obligations/investment/srequirements and I prefer to build in the USA..
Right, .TV could definitely earn you some nice chunk of change from those willing to take the risk of investing in that ccTLD when they purchase from you for development purposes.
